In addition to venture capital companies established in Taipei, there were three venture capital companies registered in Hsinchu City. Therefore, in order to expand the service to the national industry, the Taipei Venture Capital Association of Commerce and Industry applied to the Ministry of the Interior in 1998 for restructuring and establishment as a national association to provide the best service for venture capital companies across the country. As of October 2019, the number of operating venture capital companies nationwide was 268, and the total paid-in capital amounted to approximately NT $ 161.5 billion.
