ACTAI Ventures was co-founded in 2021 by Bill Tai and Amanda Terry to back transformative companies at the earliest stages. Their investment thesis centers on harnessing digitization to make industries more efficient, grounded in a belief that technology can be a force for good and a driver of positive global impact.

ACTAI Ventures goes beyond capital: building companies from scratch and curating the cap table from pre-seed through seed, and often with Bill serving as Chairman, giving them board-level influence from day one.

Bill began investing in 1991 and has an unparalleled record of spotting unicorns early: he wrote the first check into Zoom and seeded Canva, Wish, Dapper Labs, Color Genomics, SafetyCulture, Treasure Data, and Bitfury, among others. His seed portfolio has produced 23 IPOs, earning him recognition by Business Insider as a Top 100 Seed Investor three years running (2021–2023).

Amanda, co-founder of leading digital assets firm Metagood and a former Twitter executive, brings two decades of operating experience, a track record of growing companies, and recognized community leadership. She was a key employee at five digital media startups that exited to Google, AOL, Neustar, IPG and Capital One and started angel co-investing with Bill in 2018. She brings expertise in business development, sales, and product marketing, along with a strong network to help founders navigate hiring, fundraising, and scaling their companies.

Their LP base is a global mix of entrepreneurs, investors, and institutions amplified by curated gatherings where founders collaborate, forge partnerships, and connect with new investors and customers. LPs also receive first-look access to direct deals, SPVs, and secondaries.

In August 2025, their 2021-vintage fund was named one of four finalists for Allocator One’s “Fund Performance Leader,” recognized among 1,000+ emerging managers globally across 50 quantitative and qualitative criteria.
